The West Virginia University Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering is large enough to offer variety of areas of specialization (manufacturing process, decision process, total quality, productivity, ergonomics, safety, etc.), but small enough to give students individual attention.

The department is accredited by the nationally recognized Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
