The WVU chapters of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) -- composed of graduate students in our safety management and industrial hygiene programs -- raised more than $1,300 for the American Cancer Society during the organization's Relay for Life on April 13.
The walk took place at the WVU track from 6 p.m. Friday evening until 8 a.m. Saturday morning. More than 900 participants in total braved the cold weather to walk through the night, raising money for cancer research. This was the third year of the annual event.
Helping to lead the ASSE/AIHA team were Shannon Jones from Charleston, and ASSE chapter president Nathan Slavin from Parkersburg. Both are safety management students.
